Services

Not only do we sell complete engines HERE ON EBAY, we also offer a service for converting your engine!
We will convert almost any suitable small engine for use in large scale RC aircraft and airboats.
Engines that are suitable for this purpose are Ryobi, Homelite, McCulloch (Mac), Poulan (Weedeater, Craftsman & Husqvarna), Komatsu Zenoah, Echo, Redmax, Shindiawa, Cub Cadet, Snapper, Sthil and other brands of grass trimmers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, engines from small pumps and generators and more.

Price List & Description:

Basic Conversion is $75.00 +  *Shipping for most trimmers and blowers and aprox $100.00 for chainsaws. Chainsaws require much more trimming and machining as well as sometimes needing extra material for brackets, larger prop hub and mount ect and the exact cost will depend on what what particular saw needs but it will still be very close to $100.00. Basic Conversion includes machining/ trimming of the engine block, trim & precision balance of flywheel and trimming the intake manifold and backplate as needed. Also includes a T6 Aluminum engine mount and polished billet aluminum T6 prop hub with bolt and washers. Natural finish. Uses stock muffler.

Electronic Ignition Conversion is $95.00 + *Shipping and is available for Ryobi, McCulloch, Poulan and Homelite trimmer engines and any other engine that has a protruding front bearing housing (where the hall effect sensor is mounted). Includes all the above + additional machining to the engine block or head (wherever the coil mounts) and light machining to the front bearing housing on the engine block for mounting of the hall effect sensor. Also included is a EI spacer which is basically your engines stock flywheel cut down to a small spacer (I still need your flywheel to help offset the expense of the labor intensive EI hub. I resale them trimmed and balanced.) The EI prop hub is a special larger diameter, 1 piece unit with the addition of a super strong N45 NbFeB (Neodymium Iron Boron) rare earth magnet to trigger the hall effect sensor. You must purchase separately or already have an electronic ignition unit and either install the lead with the hall effect sensor yourself or send it with the engine to be installed at no extra charge. Timing will be set close but may need fine tuning prior to flight.
This conversion may soon be available for other engines than the above listed.

Optional:
Pitts Exhaust Conversion is $15.00 and includes converting your stock muffler to freeflowing, single stack Pitts exhaust with your choice of automotive gloss black or durable wrinkle finish with 1500* ceramic aluminum coating on the
stack/ pipe. (Add $8.00 for twin polished aluminum exhaust tubes)

Finish & Paint is $9.95  and includes your choice of gloss black automotive or durable wrinkle finish on the engine block and your choice of red, black, blue, purple and green 1500* ceramic aluminum coating on the head. Brushed finish on engine mount and flywheel.
NEW*  Almost any color you can think of can be used on the engine block!
Ask if your special color request is available.

Detail Polish is $6.50 and includes polishing of the engine mount (one side), outer surfaces of flywheel and top of head to a mirror finish.
Prop bolt tapped and drilled 10-32 for use with a prop spinner add $3.50 with conversion and $5.00 for just the bolt alone.

You will be sent an invoice for a $50.00 deposit regardless of how many engines to be converted. If you are paying by check or money order, make it payable to Richard West and include it with the engine/s you are sending. The remaining balance will be paid upon completion.

What to send:
To cut down on your shipping cost, it is advisable to remove the parts that will not be needed for conversion. This is not mandatory as we will remove any un-needed parts at no extra charge but these items will not be returned unless you ask and then if the parts to be returned do not fit in the return box, there will be an extra shipping charge. The below lists will give you an idea what to send and what to remove should you choose to save on your shipping costs.
Not needed for conversion is: (grass trimmer for example)
Front cover (recoil housing on most).
Clutch components.
Gas tank and rubber isolators.
Air filter.
Rear rope starter and starter paws if equipped.
Any other covers or cooling shrouds (except rear backplate/ crankcase cover).

What is needed for converting an engine:
Complete engine long block (assembled crankcase with piston and head).
Flywheel. This is also needed for EI conversions as the spacer with the trigger will be fabricated from it.
Coil. Not needed for EI conversions.
Sparkplug (if you want it cleaned and gapped).
Intake manifold (most need some trimming).
Carb (If you want it cleaned and checked).
Engine backplate. This is the plastic or metal cover on the rear of the crankcase which is usually molded into and part of the rear housing/ engine cover. It is also the intake manifold on some Ryobi and Craftsman engines.
Muffler (if you want the Pitts exhaust conversion).
All hardware related to the above items.
